Electrical goods company Havells is planning to increase its presence across Tier II and Tier III locations in Tamil Nadu. The company is currently present in 50 towns out of 110 towns with a population of 50,000 and above in the state. By the end of the fiscal, Havells is looking to enhance its presence to all the 110 towns by appointing 60 more dealers in addition to the 400 odd dealer/distributors in the state.
“This move is in line with company’s expansion plans in Tamil Nadu which include a wider product portfolio to address the needs in emerging markets such as these. Our latest offering in the non-modular switch market will help us to spread and strengthen our network in Tier II and Tier 3 towns, where the future potential lies,” Anil Bhasin, senior vice president, Havells India said.
Havells is also looking to Havells will also double its production capacity at its Baddi plant in Himachal Pradesh where all switches and domestic switchgear products are manufactured. Currently, the Baddi plant manufactures five lakh SKUs a day which will be taken to one million SKUs a day within the next two to three months.
On the retail front, the company plans to add four more Havells Galaxy in the state by the end of the fiscal taking its total tally in TN to 27.
