After attaining the franchise rights for Armani Junior in India, Designer Suneeta Varma is set to bring up the store at the end of September. In the collaboration with few partners, the designer has developed a private firm and had also signed a three store deal with the Kid’s label in July last year.
Cultivating a decade-old experience as a designer, Varma believes that creativity does not lie only in making good clothes, but one can go beyond to explore business avenues as well. As a expert designer, Varma desires to widen her knowledge to carry on this venture successfully by not only articulating creativity in clothes for kids but also forming a creating surroundings for children by generating fun through activities like art appreciation, music appreciation classes for kids, bringing in theatre personalities to interact with the kids inside the store premises.
According to ASSOCHAM study, Growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 20 per cent the kids’ apparel market in India is likely to reach Rs 80,000 crores by 2015. Reasons like increasing media exposure, high disposable income of the parents, peer pressure, growing fashion and brand consciousness among children are together driving the growth of kids’ apparel market in India.
