Taurian World School, promoted by Taurian Group with diverse interests in mining, logistics, heavy engineering and wind energy, has drawn up plans to put in place a chain of large format K-12 schools and some smaller schools purely for the not so privileged group, mostly in tier-II cities in the country. The company has plans to invest Rs 100 crore over the next three-four years and eventually nearly Rs 350 crore to set up 100 such schools.
Leading its presence across overseas has also been a pipeline, up couple of schools in Sri Lanka.
Besides the Taurian World School in Ranchi, the group also set up the first woman’s college in Jharkhand, ‘Rama Devi Bajla Mahavidyalay’ in Deoghar, with around 2000 students and DAV school in Deoghar with nearly 3000 students.
“We have plans to open at least 10 more schools in immediate future. These will be a mix of large format schools like Taurian World School (Ranchi), some smaller schools purely for the not so privileged, a dedicated girls boarding school, a dedicated sports school. All these schools would be in tier 2 cities, where there is maximum need for better education facilities. We are planning to invest 100 crore in the next 3-4 years and eventually to invest Rs 350 crore to open 100 such schools in the country,” said Amith Bajla, chairman of the group, indicating that all the schools may not come under a single brand.
Taurian Group is also exploring the franchise model, provided it gets partners who share its vision and passion for imparting high quality education, he said.
