Indian women’s wear retailer Biba has recently opened its 100th store in the country at Udaipur, Rajasthan. It is spread over 1,600 square feet and the outlet stocks SKD (Salwar Kameez Dupatta), M&M (mix & match) and unstitched fabric. It also offers the Biba Girls range for 2 to 12 year olds. Currently, Biba is present across 47 cities of the country and it is also available in retail chains like Shoppers Stop, Lifestyle, Pantaloons, and Central.
Speaking on the occasion, Siddhartha Bindra, Managing Director, Biba, said, “From our first store in 2004 till 100th in 2012, the journey has been both exciting and challenging. It’s a proud moment for all of us. We have managed to evolve alongside the evolving taste of our consumers and this is why we have managed to achieve a loyal fan base, pan-India. This achievement has given us the strength to get more aggressive towards expansion and we plan to open another 40-50 stores by next financial year.”
The company has recently picked-up majority stake in “Indian by Manish Arora”, a venture focussed on the bridal and luxury segment by fashion designer, Manish Arora as it aims to expand its product profile further.
