Shares of V-Mart Retail listed at Rs. 214, a premium of Rs 4 or 1.90 per cent, against issue price of Rs 210 on the NSE on February 20. 2013. The New Delhi-based multi-brand retail chain operates medium-sized hyper-market format retail chain. It currently owns and operate 62 stores spread across 53 cities and 10 states and union territories, with a total area of 5.06 lakh square feet. It plans to focus on high margin fashion apparel business.
The company raised over Rs 90 crore through the IPO and intends to use the proceeds for opening of 60 new stores, expansion of distribution centres, working capital requirements and general corporate purposes. The IPO was subscribed 1.19 times. The Qualified Institutional Buyers portion was subscribed 1.52 times, Non Institutional Investors segment 1.39 times and Retail Individual Investors portion 0.79 times.
