Century 21 Real Estate LLC, the franchisor of the world’s largest residential real estate sales organization, today announced the appointment of Carmen Mercado as director of recruiting. Mercado is the immediate past-president of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) and the current co-chair of the Corporate Board of Governors for 2012–2013. In addition, she is the co-founder of the New York City Chapter of NAHREP and a licensed REALTOR.
Prior to her role with Century 21 Real Estate LLC, Mercado was the education and diversity manager for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Long Island,where she was responsible for developing and implementing strategic roll-out plans, training for both staff and agents, and recruiting and retaining newly licensed and experienced real estate sales professionals.

Mercado received her real estate license in 2002, her associate brokers license in 2004, and became a Department of State certified real estate instructor in 2009. Mercado was recently featured by Housing Wire as one of the 25 Most Influential Women in the Housing Economy and one of the finalists of the Inman 100 for 2011.
