Consumer durables maker Panasonic India is looking to capture 30% market share in the Indian beauty care and grooming segment with the launch of a range of beauty products for women.
The company, which covers 25 per cent of the segment at present, has launched new products including, hair dryer, frizz remedy straightener, face-hair ionizer and a compact face ionic steamer.
Considering the changing lifestyle of people and increasing consumer awareness, the Indian market is witnessing a rapid consumption of beauty products. This range caters to those women who are looking for quick fix solutions with a trendy appeal, the company said in a statement.
“Today women are constantly trying to experiment and want to look their best always. They need quicker solutions and Panasonic is known for offering meaningful innovations for its consumers in India. The new range of products is a reflection of our commitment to addressing the ever-evolving needs of the fast moving consumers,” said Suresh Kumar Bandi, divisional deputy managing director of the home appliances business, Panasonic India.
The beauty and health care division of Panasonic also offers other products like mens shavers, air purifiers, bood pressure meters, massage chairs and handheld massagers.
Panasonic has been present in India since 1972 and posted an estimated turnover of Rs 10,000 crores in financial year 2012. The company has recently invested $300 million in the country to set up an R&D and manufacturing facility and on various marketing initiatives.
