Renowned fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee has launched his flagship store in Mumbai today on July 1st at Kalaghoda. The designer has a store in Delhi and will be opening one more in Kolkata soon. The interiors of the 2000 sq ft store in Mumbai are inspired by old world glamour and the designer’s travels.

Along with women’s ready-to wear-collection, the store offers a wide range of bridal and trousseau apparel, jewellery, footwear, accessories and menswear. It also offers personal styling and private appointments with the designer for custom orders.

The launch of the store has also see the launch of the ‘Save a Saree’ initiative – a capsule collection of bespoke hand-woven sarees curated by the designer. This is an exercise to revive hand weaving and translate the craft into popular culture. All proceeds from sales go to the weavers, which in turn helps them to deal with the fall in demand for their product, by improving their livelihood as well as sustaining their age-old traditions.
