The Chocolate Room, an Australia-based café, is inviting partners to expand its franchise network in India. The Chocolate Room started operations in October 2007 in India and currently has 65 franchisees. Jim Richardson and Kathy Richardson launched the cafe in Australia in 2005.
Chaitanya Kumar, Managing Director, The Chocolate Room, said, “We are looking for franchisees across India. Our plan is to tap into Tier-II and III cities.”
The Chocolate Room menu serves 20 flavours of Italian hot chocolate drinks, chocolate fondues, chocolate melting pots, a variety of chocolate patisserie, waffles with strawberries and hot chocolate sauce and exquisite handmade chocolates using the finest Belgian chocolate,as per a release.
The Chocolate Room is an Australian master franchisee and is entitled to give away franchisees across India. It offers varied franchise models as per city and location. The model A requires an area of 1,000-1,500 sq ft with an investment of Rs 40-50 lakh, whereas for model B an area of 100-300 sq ft with an investment of Rs 10-15 lakh is needed. For model C, which is a compact model, an investment of Rs seven lakh will be required.
