Bank of India (BoI) is planning to open 60 more branches in the northeast to cover all the districts of the region within two years. Moreover, the bank is now focusing on micro, small and medium enterprises, agricultural finance and financial inclusion.
At present, the bank has 50 branches in the seven states of the northeast. The bank has recruited clerks and officials from the region under its North East Recruitment Programme.
Regular training is also being imparted to the local staff to enhance their knowledge.
