Latest Franchise News india,Franchise News india,German home appliances maker, Bosch and Siemens Household (BSH) is planning to invest euro 100 million (around Rs. 700 crore) in India over the next five years, in order to expand footprint in India, according to a senior company executive.

“India is an important current and future market for us and we are investing euro 100 million here over the next five years,” said Stefan Lauwitz, Executive Vice President and Head of Product Division Refrigeration.

The company is aiming to use the funds to step up branding activity, to launch a wider range of products and on innovation. Going forward, it is looking at country-specific innovation to factor in issues like controlling humidity levels and power shortages. It is also in the process of setting up research facilities in India.

“We have started research and development facilities here, and are zeroing in on the location for R&D facilities,” said Gunjan Srivastava, Managing Director and Chief Executive, BSH.

The company, which had thus far focused on the premium and super-premium segments, will now look to enter the mass premium segment and improve its outreach. According to Lauwitz, in early 2016, the company is looking at launching a mass premium range of refrigerators in the Indian market.

The brand is currently present in 200 cities through 1,300 stores from a sales and distribution perspective and in 250 cities for after-sale services.
