Carlsberg, a fastest growing beer company, has stretched its reach in India by setting up new brewery and acquisition of another brewery in Haryana. the company has now total counting of seven breweries in India. The company has laid foundation for its seventh brewery in Patna, Bihar on Tuesday.
Presently, Carlsberg has breweries in Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh.
Soren Lauridsen, Managing Director, Carlsberg India said, “The acquisition of a brewery in Haryana and setting up of new brewery in Bihar reaffirms our commitment to India. Like all our breweries in India and overseas, Carlsberg India ensures production of high quality beer through stringent quality control.”
“Our ambition is to be the fastest growing beer company, by offering premium international quality brands to the Indian consumers,” he said.
The brewery which it acquired in Haryana currently has a production capacity of 150 KHL, with a potential of production up to 500 KHL. The company said it will upgrade the brewery to international quality standards.
Carlsberg also said that the new brewery in Bihar will be completed by end of fourth quarter of 2013 and will cater to the entire Bihar market and the surrounding states. The new unit will have a start-up capacity of 500KHL
Carlsberg India commenced commercial operations in 2007 and sells brands like Carlsberg, Carlsberg Elephant, Tuborg Green, Tuborg Strong and Palone 8 in India.
