Kakatiya Energy Systems, an energy management company, has launched ‘Nature Switch Indoor’, an automatic lighting control system. Nature Switch Indoor is an off-the-shelf alternative to traditional lighting controls, designed to automate indoor light switches based on lumen levels selected, reducing energy wastages normally associated with manual operation by up to 20%, a statement from the company said.

Nature Switch Indoor is suited for industrial and commercial establishments. It employs a patented advanced multi-spectral sensor technology which is capable of sensing multiple bands on the electromagnetic spectrum and ensures flicker free lighting, the statement said. Nature Switch Indoor can replace traditional lighting controls by integrating it into the main switchboard, avoiding the need to replace light bulbs and switches, the statement said. Nature Switch Indoor also automatically resets controls based on seasons, and the requirement of light in the room.

In an area of about 3000 sq ft, with a lighting load of 1,000 watt (Rs 6/kwh), deployment of Nature Switch Indoor can avoid wastage of over two hours each day, saving Rs 10,512 over a year, the company statement said.

“Nature Switch Indoor delivers immediate energy savings for industrial and commercial establishments, while also providing an optimum lighting environment. The automated lighting control eases maintenance staff workload so they can be repurposed for more critical job functions,” said Lakshman Rao, managing director of Kakatiya Energy Systems.

Energy Systems’ Nature Switch Indoor systems are installed at UltraTech’s Awarpur Cement Plant, Autoliv India Private Limited, amongst other offices.
