Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, who has collaborated with Cartoon Network to release an animated film Kid Krrish based on his feature film franchise Krrish, says if the TV project works, he will continue it as a franchise too.
“Krrish is broadly a family film which kids, parents and grandparents can see. But we made Kid Krrish only targeting the children,” the 64-year-old said here on Tuesday at the announcement of the animated film.
“So when they see the animated film on Cartoon Network, and if it does well, we can continue this series as long as we can then,” he added.
Rakesh terms this occasion as a proud moment for him and his production house.
“Usually it’s the other way round that feature films are made out of animated films. But this is the first time that an animated film is being made from a feature film and that’s a very proud moment for FilmKRAFT and Krrish the franchise,” Rakesh said.
Kid Krrish will be premiered on Cartoon Network on October 2. Rakesh’s actor son Hrithik Roshan, who essays the lead role in the live action film, is gearing up for its release Nov 4.
