Dubai-based Rotana Hotels may announce its first project in a few months as part of its expansion plans in India and likely to invest USD 3-5 million over the next few years, a top company executive has said.
“We hope to announce our first project in India in the coming few months. We plan to launch our upscale full-service hotels and resorts brand Rotana Hotels & Resorts, our upscale extended stay brand Arjaan Hotel Apartments by Rotana and our mid-scale lifestyle brand Centro Hotels by Rotana across the country,” Rotana Senior Vice President (India) Aman Aditya Sachdev.
The global hospitality firm is expecting to invest about $3-5 million over the next few years in the Indian market on corporate infrastructure development, business development, human resource development, and enhancing focus on brand marketing and sales activities among others, he added.
Rotana has a target of operating 20 hotels (making up approximately 4,000 rooms) within the next 10 years in India and the company is in discussions with developers in various key markets for long-term associations, Sachdev said, adding that on an average, each property would have about 200 keys.
Rotana is an established hotel management company and all of its properties are branded and operated under management contracts signed with the asset owners.
“All our properties in India will also follow the same business model,” Sachdev said.
The company is exploring long-term associations with potential asset owners across multiple tier-1 and tier-2 cities in India, he said.
“Currently, we are looking at over 25 cities spread across the country including Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Kochi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Goa, to name a few,” he added.
