Yum! Restaurants India will shortly open India’s first Taco Bell outlet in Bangalore. Taco Bell is a Mexican specialty chain of US-based fast food restaurant brands operator Yum! Restaurants. With this new offering, Yum! is looking to tap the young consumer segment as part of its effort to increase its footprint in the estimated $1-billion Indian fast food market.

Yum Restaurants, which operates the Pizza Hut and Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) chains, said it will open India’s first Taco Bell restaurant in Bangalore by the fiscal-end and expand its existing businesses to reach $1 billion in sales.

Niren Chaudhary, managing director (Indian subcontinent) of Yum Restaurants said “We are going to open our first Taco Bell in Bangalore. The date is, however, linked to the mall in which we are planning to open it. We are ready to open as soon as the mall opens”.
