Talking about their expansion plans in an exclusive to Hospitality Biz, Uday Mathur, Director, Tea Trails said, “We’re the early entrants in this game and we plan to move ahead in the market.

Tea Trails has so far two company owned operational outlets in Mumbai at BKC and Viviana Mall, Thane. Three new outlets will open in the next two months in Malad, Oshiwara and Bandra. The next in line are cities like Pune, Bengaluru and Delhi. We’re also in plans for franchise module for our upcoming outlets. So, in the next three years we should have around 500 outlets pan-India.”

According to Tea Board of India, India’s tea production has increased by 8 per cent as well as India is the world’s second largest consumer. This has created a huge opportunity in the market for tea lounges to come and experiment with tea varietals. “We’ve created a tea lounge that is priced attractively and offers more than 50 varieties of teas, brewed only with whole leaf tea. In addition, we plan to widen our network in three formats : Lounge, Café and Kiosk.” added Mathur.

“We’re also in plans for retailing our merchandise with branded crockery and tin caddies. In addition, we have conducted tea-tasting workshops with small groups of ten to 15 people. We also have an Executive Lunch and Executive Breakfast in our menu, wherein we keep rotating our teas that are complimentary to pair it with the food offered. For example, with a smoky chicken salad, we offer smoky black tea that goes with it,” explained Kavita Mathur, Co-Owner, Tea Trails.

Tea Trail‘s menu includes Chinese Lapsang Souchong, South African Rooibos, Taiwanese Bubble Tea (in mango and lychee flavours), Kashmiri Kahwa, Oolongs, Kulhad Chai among others.
