The entity, which started off as a barber shop in 1805 in England, and counts the Royal family as its client, has opened its barber shop-cum-accessory store in the city. The company has outlets in Delhi and Mumbai. The venture has been brought to India by Lloyds Luxuries, which has the master franchise licence for Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar and Vietnam, apart from India, company officials said.
“The men’s grooming space is growing in India and we see considerable demand in Bengaluru,” said Krishna Gupta, Director, Lloyds Luxuries. The outlet in Bengaluru will be a mix of a barber shop and will sell accessories such as pre-shave oil, bath and body products, shampoo, conditioner, shaving kits and related paraphernalia.
Further, the company plans to roll out Truefitt and Hill shops in 75 cities and open 200 outlets. The investment in these outlets will Rs. 1- 1.5 crore and will be spread across 1000-1500 sq. ft. of commercial space.
As part of its India plans, the company will open another outlet in Bengaluru and one each in Gurugram and Hyderabad. Raj Paliwal, sub-licensee of the local outlet in Bengaluru and Director of Ritz Luxuries, said as the city has a lot of people who have visited similar outlets abroad, there is a pent-up demand for something like this.
